Your Skin Deep Spa Staycation
So you’ve had to shelve that trip to Paradise this year. It doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to something special, right in your own back yard. It’s called a Staycation, a creative way to discover little treasures close to home. A spa Staycation is a super way to stay healthy through the stressful times and still get the benefits of that week away. Throughout the summer, Skin Deep will be offering Staycation specials
Here are some tips for planning a summer-long spa Staycation.
First: pick something healthy you’ve anted to do for yourself. Maybe this is the time to quit smoking, lose a few pounds, learn Yoga or Tai Chi, take up meditation. You don’t even need to sign up for the expensive designer classes. Check out your local Y, city or county parks and rec, or community center summer schedules. They are full of free or inexpensive classes, and you’ll be supporting local organizations. Then, when you find something you really like, you can explore the more advanced private studios.
Next, design your spa Staycation days. Mix them up! A massage one week; a facial or wrap the next. If you’ve already got a regular spa schedule, treat yourself to some upgrades. That extra-long massage, or the deluxe facial. Make sure you take advantage of Skin Deep’s unique facilities for side-by-side facials, massages and Zen Water Experience for dates with your spouse or partner, and for play dates with friends.
Be sure to tell your aestheticians and massage therapists your wellness plan. They can help you plan the kind of spa visits that best support your goals. Maybe you’ve decided to learn to surf. Your facialist can help design a skin care program around longer times in the sun and surf, and your massage therapist will have some helping hands for those sure-to-be-sore muscles!
The best thing about a spa Staycation is that it never has to end. Like Dorothy home from Oz, you’ll find that there’s no place like home for a relaxing, rewarding Staycation!
