Permanent Makeup
Permanent Makeup is a wonderful option for anyone who desires a soft and natural enhancement to their appearance - whatever the reason. Permanent Makeup, also known as microdermal-pigmentation, is a process whereby natural, mineral pigments are inserted under the skin with the use of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle. These hypoallergenic pigments are specifically designed for facial application, and contain no added fragrances or emollients. Whether you desire the allure (and ultra convenience!) of knowing that your eyebrows always appear perfectly groomed, your eyeliner expertly applied, and/or that your lips look as naturally pink and beautiful as when you were a baby - Permanent Makeup offers a wonderful solution to enhance or even correct many perceived "imperfections". Whatever procedure may interest you, the application of permanent color can create a more polished look. Because it is permanent, many women choose a more natural-looking enhancement - then "dress it up" with makeup for a more dramatic evening look.

What type of Permanent Makeup procedures are available at Skin Deep? Our Permanent Makeup Artist specializes in Eyebrow Hair Simulation (this could include anything from just a few well-placed strokes of "hair" to a full eyebrow design), Eye Liner, Lip Liner, Sparkling, & Needling.
How is the procedure performed? Using a small, sterile micro-needle, pigment is inserted into the skin. Our Permanent Makeup Artist uses the Dynasty Sapphire 2000; it is the first sterilizable lightweight permanent makeup machine, it uses all disposable accessories, and it complies with all sterilization guidelines as established by the Center for Disease Control. All procedures are performed in a clean, comfortable, and professional environment where the needs of each and every Client are of paramount importance.
Just how permanent are the results? For many individuals, the results are indeed permanent. However, for others the results may be semi-permanent, meaning that future touchup(s) may be necessary. The longevity of your personal results can be influenced by a variety of factors: Ultra-violet exposure from the sun or tanning booths, excessively dry skin, and smoking. Also, products containing Alpha-Hydroxy Acid, Retin-A, and/or Glycolic Acid must not be used on the treated area(s). The use of appropriate sun protection (i.e.: sunblock on the eyebrows, sunglasses to protect eyeliner, SPF30 lip balm for those precious lips!) is highly recommended and can greatly prolong the effective life of these procedures.

The area of work which Lauren often finds the most rewarding is in helping cancer survivors to look their best. Lauren has had personal experience with this because both her Mother and Grandmother are cancer survivors; therefore, she has a particularly keen sense of empathy for the special needs of those dealing with this type of illness. She understands the ravaging effects that chemotherapy and radiation treatments can have on the body, including the difficulty of losing eyebrows and eyelashes in the process. Through procedures such as Eyebrow Hair Simulation and Permanent Eyeliner, Lauren is able to help cancer survivors to regain their outer beauty and thus, their confidence and sense of self. She has seen firsthand what a profound effect Permanent Makeup can have on someone's appearance and overall wellbeing. We are proud to have Lauren Chavez as part of our team of Day-Makers at Skin Deep.
